Honeytrap Exchange





The film has only been released in the British Film Festival on the 17th of October. The film is set to be released in February 2015 the film will be released nationwide, across England.

Honeytrap is to be released in independent cinemas in England. It will not be released globally because it is an independent low budget film. It will be released in 2D format however the box office figures have not been given yet because the film has not been released in cinemas.

Anchorbay also released Sin City and The one I love.
The release was restricted as it is an independent film. It has not been released in Cinemas or on DVDs it was released in British Film Festival on the 17th of October.

One of the ways they raised money for the marketing campaign was fundraising 

they created a profile and started to develop a fan base 
They marketed their film on social networking sites such as facebook, twitter and tumblr 
Festivals were run and the film was featured on urban music blogs and magazines e.g. Grime
Daily and RWD
They also engaged with networks focused on young people/women's’ issues/knife 
crime prevention
hey also linked TOP GIRL - which got more than 65,000 views and over 1000 views per week - with HONEYTRAP trailer
 They looked at possible promotions with WhatsApp, Blackberry Messenger and other free message and networking services used heavily by young people.
They mainly used the internet to promote their film as they were on a tight budget and could not promote their film on billboards and buses (also because it is an independent film)
The target audience for this film was urban young people 15-25 year old (both sexes)

Social media were a major influence of marketing techniques, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have been used to promote the film, which is more likely to attract their target audience of young people.

HoneyTrap would appeal to a national audience because it is a British film with British semi-known cast.

The BFI London Film Festival is very well known as the event takes place every year and is popular for showing upcoming movies. People who attended the BFI London Film Festival would have seen the movie and write a review about it afterwards or comment on trailers, which would provide information for others.
